AKWOS Mission is: To Empower East-African women, starting from Rwanda, through sports and education.
Empowering women in decision making towards peace building
After the destructive genocide of 1994, there was a great need to mobilize and guide the population to reconstruct it’s own lives as well as their communities and country.

At Akwos Rwanda, we are asking important questions with regards to teenage sexuality and the consequences. We are using sports as a platform to share information and sensitise the community on this issue
AKWOS Sports Academy
Over the years, there has been under-representation and lack of development opportunities for women leaders in sports. Despite a variety of efforts to remedy the situation, sports leadership continues to be male-dominated.
